NxGen MDx, a company that gives creative genetic testing solutions, declared today about the national agreement that its genetic screening and non-invasive pre-natal testing will be available on an in-network basis for Aetna health plans’ 40+ million members starting on the day of February 15, 2017.
Aetna, the 3rd greatest health plan in the United States, involved the products of NxGen in national agreement following a, in-depth review of their products’ distinctive features, like full-gene sequencing, and the additional incremental benefits they will give to the physician network that concentrates on women’s healthcare. Several physicians supported the inclusion of NxGen MDx in the network because of their stated belief that NxGen MDx’s suite of services is best-in-class tools and aid in informed decision-making. In accordance to Dr. Mark Perloe, Medical Director at Georgia Reproductive Specialists in Atlanta, “having NxGen MDx in the Aetna network permits me the flexibility to use the testing services that I consider are in my patients’ best interest.”
“Like NxGen MDx, Aetna’s aim is to give tools to assist physicians and sufferers to make informed decisions about their health care. We’re both attempting to accomplish the similar goal,” claims Alan Mack, CEO of NxGen MDx.
Aetna will cover all of NxGen’s testing at a national level, giving its 46 million members with in-network access to best-in-class and comprehensive genetic testing in the marketplace. NxGen MDx provides testing for up to 120 several genetic disorders through panels and stand-alone screens
“Sufferers will now have in-network access to best-in-class genetic testing. This removes hurdles for many health care professionals who’ve wanted to use our testing in the past,” claims Kristin Sherman, CFO of NxGen MDx.
