Brain Research Foundation (BRF) recently declared that Scott Serota, president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), has merged with its board of directors. “Scott has reflected keen interest in our Foundation and the work we support,” claimed Dr. Terre A. Constantine, executive director and chief executive officer of BRF. “We’re fortunate to add someone with his extensive healthcare experience and passion for science and research to our board.”
BCBSA, a federation of thirty-six independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies, got BRF’s 2016 Frederic A. Gibbs award for community service. Mr. Serota took and accepted the award on behalf of the association.
“As someone who has devoted his whole career to healthcare, I’ve a special acknowledgement for the terrific work Brain Research Foundation has enabled in this important clinical area over the past 6 decades,” Mr. Serota stated. “Looking ahead, I foresee more pioneering contributions from the Foundation that meet the shared goals of our organizations: assisting people get and stay healthy; preventing disease; and ensuring that all Americans get the right treatments at the right time.
