Lenovo Health has partnered with Orbita, a connected home healthcare technology vendor, to disclose a virtual home care system at HIMSS17 based on 2 recently debuted products: Lenovo Smart Assistant and Orbita Voice. Lenovo Health and Orbita have launched the voice-enabled home health assistant.
Lenovo’s Smart Assistant, 1st previewed at the Consumer Electronics Show in the month of January, is a voice-controlled speaker for the home that merges the Amazon Alexa voice platform with Lenovo styling and Harman Kardon speaker technology. Orbita’s Voice is a voice experience manager for healthcare that develops on other voice-assistant platforms such as Amazon Alexa to enable intuitive, patient-centric home care experiences designed to make better the patient engagement, care coordination and outcomes, the vendor stated.
Integrating Orbita Voice with the Lenovo Smart Assistant is meant to indicate how natural voice-enabled home health assistant technology can assists sufferers with chronic and post-acute care needs be more completely engaged in their wellness at home, the two vendors said. Enhancing a patient’s capability to access and share data with providers, caregivers and family members contributes to improved care management, treatment adherence and medication compliance, the vendors added.
“There is an important gap in the delivery of care; it is not what happens when in front of your providers that is most significant, but what happens at home, making it a care setting,” stated Tom Foley, director of global health solution strategy at Lenovo Health, in a statement.
