A home healthcare aide has been sentenced to 5 years of probation in Erie County Court for stealing money from an 82-year-old West Seneca lady.
Mary Talbot, 54, of Cheektowaga, pleaded guilty in the month of April to grand larceny in the third degree and five counts of forgery in the second degree.
In accordance to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, between the time period of January 2015 to May 2016, Talbot, who was the victim’s home healthcare aide, stole $41,590 by forging the woman’s checks, making them payable to herself and then cashing them.
Talbot, who is in counseling for a gambling addiction, already has paid $18,700 in restitution and has been ordered to pay the victim $350 a month until the year of June 2022.
