Raleigh, N.C.-based Community Care Physician Network and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna collaborated for rural healthcare initiatives in the region of North Carolina for Medicare Advantage policyholders.
CCPN — comprised of 2,000 independent physicians across 615 practices — and Aetna will start their value-based delivery model collaboration in the month of January. Many of Aetna’s value-based care models tie physician reimbursement to health outcomes.
- Allen Dobson, Jr., MD, CEO of Community Care of North Carolina, claimed, “Both Aetna and CCNC consider that a national insurance carrier and a local primary care network working together can make better the quality, make the healthcare experience simpler, make care more efficient and decrease the healthcare costs.”
